Let’s face the music

Music is a vitally important part of Gympie’s culture.

The big name here, of course, is the Gympie Music Muster, and while country music runs through this town’s veins, music is everywhere in our town.

Gympie spends time developing young artists through school programs or through initiatives such as the Song Muster, giving artists a formative experience in their songwriting careers.

We also lend our ears to the next generation of rockstars through programs such as the AICM Rockskool and lend our ears to our aspiring songwriters at events such as the open mics at Wolvi Hall.

It’s why it’s unfortunate to hear of contention at our AICM.

I know we all want the best future for our musicians because I know we love to hear them play.

Let’s hope the AICM’s great work continues and that good will prevails.
