HomeOpinionWho knows? we do.

Who knows? we do.

Journalism celebrates your wins with you and feels your losses alongside you.

Journalism shares every part of the community that the world doesn’t just want to know about, but needs to know about.

From a personal experience, I wanted to know where and what I can get involved in within the Gympie community.

When I searched for events and groups, the amount of information available online was either incredibly limited or not available at all.

After speaking to organisers, leaders, businesses and people of the community, I was able to not only find the information I wanted myself, but share that across the community.

Now I know, if anyone is like me, looking for answers, there is at least one place where they can find them.

The information needs to be timely, accurate and truthful, which is why to me, celebrating fact-based Journalism for this World News Day is knowing the contribution that Gympie Today makes to ensure that you know the truth about what is happening in your community.

The role that we play as Journalists is that when someone asks you, “Who knows?”

You can say, “I do,” knowing that you have that information from a trust-worthy, factual and reputable source.

Celebrate this World News Day by choosing truth, choosing facts and choosing to see the value that fact-based Journalism can bring to your community.

Celebrate with us as we continue our never-ending pursuit of the truth as we wade our way through the changing world of news.
