The Voice is dangerous

I read with amazement the letter of Tracey McWilliams (23/06) – it was full of many false concepts.

Firstly Tracey writes “What a wonderful opportunity to unite the country”.

The truth is that the first nations people are not united on this issue at all.

There are so many of the Aboriginal people that are appealing for a “No” vote.

This move will not unite the country but rather send a big divide right through the nation.

Just read the book by Tom Mayo, the architect behind the Voice.

It will make your hair stand on end and send shivers down your spine.

Tracey again writes this vote of Yes will give people a stronger voice in parliament.

Presently the Australian Tax Payer pays 32 billion dollars a year to various aboriginal groups and bodies of people to assist the government in making decisions for these people.

Yet even with this huge amount of money, that no other people’s group get, they are unable to agree as to how and where this money is being spent. Someone needs to do a trace on who gets this money, it might shock you if you knew.

There is already very good representation in Canberra for the Aboriginal people.

These are duly elected by the people.

Why should one group of people have a different form of representation than other people groups?

We live in a democracy which has served us well, this Voice is not duly elected by the people.

This Voice will have input into the Executive of the government.

This is way beyond any other body of people who might lobby the government.

This is a dangerous move.

Finally we don’t vote yes on something we don’t understand how it will actually work.

We cannot leave the fine details to politicians.

We, the people are to do this, but we will not get the opportunity.

It is crucial that this referendum is voted down and we allow only the elected people, by the people, have the control of this nation.

As for the 60,000 years, that is just a nonsense.

There is no proper evidence of that time frame, it is mere conjecture and should never be taught as factual.

For anyone interested I would be happy to show a far more factual valid time frame.

Let’s us not get carried away with tokenism or emotionalism, just stick to the facts.
