Local groups get share of $16m

    A number of community groups will receive a share of $16 million under the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

    This includes All 4 Dachshunds Inc, Gympie Meals on Wheels Inc, Gympie Snooker Club Inc, Kandanga Country Club Inc, Koala Action Gympie Region Inc, Numabulla Men’s Shed Inc, Rainbow Beach Sports Recreation and Memorial Club Inc and Weeroona Association Inc.

    All 4 Dachshunds Inc is up to receive $11,500 to purchase equipment thanks to the fund and Gympie Meals on Wheels Inc will be receiving $35,000 to purchase a combi oven.

    Gympie Snooker Club Inc will be receiving $31,190 to Install a shed and access ramp as well as recover snooker tables and purchase equipment.

    Kandanga Country Club Inc will be upgrading their cold room after receiving $35,000 and Koala Action Gympie Region Inc will be receiving $10,745 to purchase IT Equipment and host a training workshop.

    In order to construct outdoor recreation space for community, the Numabulla Men’s Shed Inc will be receiving $32,556.

    Rainbow Beach Sports Recreation and Memorial Club Inc will receive $35,000 to construct a shade structure and Weeroona Association Inc will receive $32,400 to construct a shed.

    The community groups in Gympie received a total of $118,391.

    The Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) has approved more than 67,800 funding applications and distributed more than $1.158 billion in community grants since it was established in 1994.

    For those Queensland not-for-profit organisations that missed out or would like to apply for a grant, round 120 is now open.
