The Gympie community has yet again shown its’ generosity to help a young lady get a laptop as she begins her journey into high school.
After a young mother put a call out on the Gympie community group asking for any help, big or small, to get her daughter prepared for school.
The post on the group page had then received 200 replies and comments, with more donations offered by the hour.
After the call, Gympie local Josh Clark working alongside the assistance of the Gympie community, helped fundraise and spread the word to help the young girl get the laptop she needs.
After seeing the call, Gympie local Mischa Kanaef, generously donated her laptop for the young lady to use.
Also donated by other community members were hard drives, a laptop bag and mouse.
“This has restored not only my faith in this wonderful country town and its community but also many other people.” said Mr Clark.
“Life is hard and it’s even harder for single mum’s and dad’s at the moment.
“If you are struggling if you are in need jump onto one of your community group pages and put your hand up.”
Many parents are all too familiar with how expensive putting a child through school can be.
From uniforms, shoes, stationary, excursions and now with the added cost of Technology entering the classroom parents are expected to buy their children laptops.
However, this young lady will be going to school on Monday with a Shiny refurbished HP laptop thanks to the Gympie community.
