Up, up and away

Drop in and watch enthusiasts fly their models at Rifle Fish Road Tin Can Bay on 1-3 October

After a three-year hiatus, the Tin Can Bay Model Flying Club is excited to bring back its Large-Scale Model Muster to Tin Can Bay.

The event is being held at their clubhouse at Rifle Fish Road Tin Can Bay from 1-3 October with models of all eras expected to roll up from around the state.

Club member Bill Wheeler said the club had received expressions of interest from interstate fliers for the event which is open to all Model Aeronautical Association of Australia (MAAA) members.

Visitors are encouraged to come and enjoy the event with something for the entire family during or after flying events and camping onsite available for only $10 a night.

The Tin Can Bay Model Flying Club is over forty years old with its beginnings in a field on Teewah Creek Road and from there it was moved to its current location at Rifle Fish Road.

Well known Tin Can Bay local and club patron Les Reibel and Alan Kidd were amongst the foundation members and driving force behind the facilities the club has today.

The club now has 50 members ranging in age from teenagers to active eighty year old members offering a wealth of experience to anyone keen to learn more.

Organisers say if you have ever been interested in flying or model building, drop by the club on one of the clubs fly days with members happy to show off their planes and discuss how

to become a model pilot or get along to the Model Muster on the first weekend in October.
