Gympie Regional Council has just warned residents of Goomeri, Woolooga and Kilkivan of “significant flooding” affecting much of Gympie region’s western districts.
Goomeri and Kilkivan Halls have been opened as refuge centres, the council has said.

Meanwhile, in a region beset by floods, Goomeri is dry in the worst way following a water main break which has prevented water supply to the town.
Gympie Library closed at 10.30am due to weather damage.
