Emergency workers have resumed the search for a teenage girl, missing after her car was swept off a flooded road near Booybyjan, north-west of Gympie.
She and a man, about 40, are reported to have escaped from the vehicle, but the girl was then carried off by the rushing water.
The man was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
The Bureau of Meteorology says the remains of ex-cyclone Seth dropped intense rain on the Kanigan area and a huge fall of more than 670mm nearby.
Intense rain lashed many Queensland centres with heavy rain in the near-Gympie area starting on Thursday night and continuing through Friday and into Saturday and is forecast to continue, though not as constantly, in coming days.
The Bruce Highway is cut north of Curra, as is the Burnett Highway near Tansey.
Properties and roads have been flooded near Miva and Gootchie.
The Wide Bay Highway is also closed.
SES groups in the area have received more than 140 calls for help from flood and rain affected residents.
Police have urged motorists to think twice before driving anywhere due to changing conditions and flooded roads.
Meanwhile the Bureau of Meteorology has forecast easing conditions during the week ahead, though with rain in places, partial sun and generally moderate chances of small amounts of rain overall.
