I refer to the letters from Merv Welch and Ashley Goldsworthy regarding the fluoride discussion that occurred on the 7.30 report.
Both writers make the suggestion that I fail to have the stomach for such a conversation.
Neither have contacted me to ascertain the facts on this matter, but seem to be able to form a view without them.
I was not invited by the 7.30 report to comment or speak on the matter.
I have spoken publicly on the issue to media on many occasions and would have been very happy to speak to the 7.30 report staff.
I would have also been happy to speak to both of the writers prior to their letter formation.
It would have been fair for the writers to contact me before commenting as they then could have written their letters with the facts in mind, not just asserted their opinion as a fact.
I am always happy to speak on these topics in the media or with members of the public.
