Monday 18 November Kilkivan Nibbles and Giggles This social get-together at the Kilkivan Library every Monday at 9.30am is to chat over a coffee or tea and allows you to meet people in your local community and borrow a book or DVD from the library. Coffee, tea, and biscuits will be supplied.

*Kids Learn to Sew – Intermediate*

Finished the beginner course and looking for some new sewing projects? Writing Friday

Here’s your chance to join other writers in practicing and honing your literary skills. Whether your interest is in writing novels, short stories, non-fiction, or poetry, or gaining better marks for your assignments, Writing Friday will provide a regular opportunity to write, learn, and enjoy the company of like-minded people. Sessions are held at the Gympie Library at 10am on the third Friday of each month.

Social Badminton

Head along to the James Nash Sports Hall (Alenola Street entrance) from 6.30pm to try your hand at social badminton. All levels of age and experience are welcome. *Kids Fun Tennis Program*

There’s lots of fun to be had at the Queens Park courts on the corner of the Bruce Highway and Jane St from 4 to 5pm. The cost is $3 per child or $5 per family. No bookings are required. Social Seniors Cards

Head along to the Senior Citizen’s Centre on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10am and 2pm for some card game fun playing 500. Page Turners – Nikki Mottram

Come along to the Gympie Library from 5.30pm to meet Nikki Mottram, author of Crows Nest and Killarney. Nikki has a psychology degree from the University of Queensland and has worked in London and Australia protecting and promoting the welfare of children at risk of harm. She uses her background in child protection in her crime fiction. She has been shortlisted for the Fish Short Story Prize and the Hal Porter Short Story Competition and was a recipient of the Katharine Susannah Pritchard Writer’s Centre Fellowship. She grew up and resides in Toowoomba and brings to her work an understanding of rural communities. Bookings are essential.
