An attack on citizen rights

Growing up in Biggenden my dad’s rifle always hung just inside the back door on a gun rack on the kitchen wall.

Many a time I remember him reaching for his rifle to shoot an eastern brown or red bellied black snake that threatened family or livestock.

Fancy denying the man on the land the right to own a gun?

The right to shoot a wounded or dying animal?

And how about during a drought when cattle become too weak to stand or trapped in a bog.

What then?

You want the man on the land to club his stock to death?

Shame on you!

I doubt the politicians who pass these laws have ever been face to face with a feral wild boar or a wild, raging bull.

These animals are killers – your rifle is your only hope in the bush for survival.

I never ever saw my dad go bush or amongst animals without his rifle.

It is the honest citizen that applies for a gun license.

The criminal doesn’t want his name registered.

The crim knows how to obtain whatever weapon he wants through the criminal network.

Every man on the land needs a gun to protect his property.

Denying the famer a license will not stop the criminal from perpetrating crimes of violence.

For many, many years now our citizen rights and freedom of speech have been slowly eroded.

The enemy of the people today is our socialist bureaucracy and I’m afraid all parties have the same agenda.

Sadly Australia, my beautiful country, I knew as a girl is now lost in the past.
