Market holds firm to dearer

Sullivan Livestock yarded 2207 good quality cattle at their regular fortnightly Gympie Cattle Sale held Monday 24 November 2025, where the market was firm to dearer for all descriptions.

Cattle were drawn from Lowmead, Gin Gin, Childers, Maryborough, Brooweena, Booubyjan, Kilkivan, Woolooga, Maleny, Conondale, Kenilworth and all local areas.

Heavy bulls topped at $4.38 for Droughtmaster Bulls from Glastonbury to return $4,053. Quality Limousin x bullocks from Tiaro topped at $5/kg to return $3,356 and $3,071.

Heavy Charbray Cows from Kandanga made $4.18 ($2,582 and $2,571).

Charbray x steers from Woolooga topped at $5.30 ($2,365 and $2,271).

Charbray steers from North Deep Creek made $5.26 ($2,473, $2,187 and $2,172).

Heavy Charbray steers from Gympie made $5.28 ($2,561 and $2,535).

Droughtmaster steers from Netherby made $5.30 ($2,147 and $2,131).

While their Brangus brothers sold for $5.24 ($2,366).

Charbray steers from Dallarnil made $5.34 ($2,263). Charbray

weaner steers from Cootharaba sold for $5.66 ($1,585).

Simmental x steers from Obi Obi made $5.48 ($1,585).

Charbray steers from Brooweena made $5.88 ($1,346).

While a run of their Brahman x brothers sold for $5.18 topping at $1,184.

Charbray weaner steers from Kenilworth sold for $5.82 ($1,769).

Santa x steers from Elginvale made $5.96 ($1,523).

Generally better quality weaner steers sold from $5.00 to $5.96.

Heavy Charbray feeder heifers from Munna Creek made $4.58 ($1,869).

Droughtmaster heifers from Goomboorian sold for $4.32 ($1,829 and $1,713) and $4.24 ($1,690).

Droughtmaster heifers from Gunalda sold for $4.46 ($1,563 and $1,476).

Droughtmaster heifers from Dallarnil sold for $4.40 ($1,613).

Brahman heifers from Brooweena sold for $4.42 to return $1,505 and $1,385.

Quality Charbray heifers from Kenilworth topped at $4.90 ($1,803 and $1,451).

Good quality Brangus heifers from Widgee made $5.02 ($1,678).

Brangus heifers from Lower Wonga made $4.94 ($1,680).

Weaner heifers topped at $5/kg for Charbray heifers from Cootharaba to return $1,102.

Better quality lines of weaner heifers generally sold from $3.85 to $4.70.

Heifers to Processors made from $3.20 to $3.70.

Cows and Calves were limited in supply and sold to a top of $1,800.00

Last Sale for the year is on Monday, 8 December.
