A good quality yarding of 1187 cattle by Sullivan Livestock at its regular fortnightly Gympie Cattle Sale held Monday 10 November 2025, saw the market dearer for all descriptions.
Cattle were drawn from Maryborough, Brooweena, Booubyjan, Tansey, Kilkivan, Woolooga, Manumbar and all local areas.
In the Meatworks section Charbray bulls from Kandanga topped at $4.07 and their Meatworks Charbray steers at $4.59.
Quality Charbray cows from Mothar Mountain sold for $3.94 ($2,591).
Brangus x 4 and 6 tooth heifers from Brooweena made $4.16 to return $2,098.
Heavy Droughtmaster feeder steers from J & M Belling, Miva topped at $4.81 to return $2,009.
Brangus steers from Sexton made $4.81 ($1,914 and $1,904).
Droughtmaster x steers from B & L Gear, Cedar Pocket made $4.74 ($2,115).
Brangus steers from Sexton made $4.80 ($1,980) and $4.86 ($1,861).
Droughtmaster weaner steers from Ross Brothers, Brooweena made $5.42 ($1,595).
Greg and Kevin Birt, Gunalda sold Droughtmaster weaner steers for $5.66 ($1,512) and $6.14 ($1,381).
While their Charbray brothers made $5.64 ($1,476).

Generally better-quality weaner steers sold $4.90 to $5.86.

Numbers were back to 550 in Murgon on Tuesday, 4 November, mainly due to a lot of areas receiving some rainfall over the weekend.
The market was very strong throughout.
Export numbers were back to 150 and suitable feeder steers and heifers were in very short supply.
Bullocks sold to $4.46 c/kg and $3120.00.
Bulls topped at $3.88 c/kg for $3800.00.
Cows over 500kg sold to $3.76 per kilogram and $2220.00.
Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.70 for $1810.00.
Light Cows under 400 kg sold to $3.52 and $1400.00.
Export heifers topped at $4.28 c/kg and $2230.00.
