The community in Dagun and Amamoor are coming together to support Marni Hunter, who, unfortunately, due to a devastating house fire, has lost her home and her beloved cat, Apple.
Living on her dearly loved farm, it took just mere moments for so much to be sadly taken away from her, including all of her belongings and the everyday essentials that everyone needs.
That’s why the community are coming together to lend a helping hand to get their friend, neighbour and local back on their feet, the best they can.
A fundraising event is being held at Dagun Station on Sunday, 26 April, to help Marni Hunter rebuild and bring the community together for a fun day out.
Gympie has already shown massive support for Marni after her daughters started a GoFundMe page in March following the house fire.
Her daughters described their mother with high praise, saying that she always goes above and beyond for the people in her life, and it appears the community would do the same for her.
Hosted by Dagun Community Group and Friends of Amamoor Inc, Dagun and Amamoor Unite for Marni will be held at Dagun Station on Sunday 26 April from 3pm to 7pm.
There will be raffles, an auction, live music, and there will be food available and a bar open.
If you’d like to help out, they are still seeking raffle prizes and auction items for the event.
