Who is running the council?

Who is running the Gympie [Regional] Council?

Is it the elected Councillors, do they get a say about what happens in the shire?

Or do they just follow what they are told by the unelected bureaucrats?

Who, by the way, have shown in the past that their advice was poor and showed demonstrable lack of common sense.

The bureaucrats do not worry about how much money (read your rates) they waste on follies like the gantry or the railway station underpass.

Do not forget the long-running nonsense at the Civic Centre.

They do not have to face the ratepayers at election time.

Their jobs are very secure, almost impossible to be sacked.

The council is gaining a reputation as being a sheltered workshop.

When was the last time council workers, not contractors, actually built a road?

Where are those council workers, who not that long ago, did those types of work?

I realise there is a gang that fills a few potholes here and there, but actually build a road?

There is something very seriously wrong here, and it cannot be allowed to continue.

We need action, not words.
