School Zone speedsters might surprise

Now that Tony Perret’s Liberal government has been elected, I would like to see him push to have speed cameras erected in our school zones.

There is one at Tin Can Bay, but not any in Gympie.

We need a camera out here at Wolvi.

Every morning, trucks, cars speed through the school.

During these times, you might be surprised and catch out the school bus, and sorry to say, some of the teachers.

I have personally slowed down while others do not in front of me.

Also, people speed through the school zone at Saint Patrick’s High School.

People do not realise the school zone times finish at 9.30am, not 9am, and this goes on at One Mile, etc.

So I call on Minister Tony Perrett to show he has some worth and get this done sooner rather than later.

The community will be surprised at how many will be caught speeding.

I know the police do their best, but they can not be at every school for the two hours in the morning and afternoon.

Let’s keep our children safe.
