Please, think of the children

I thought we’d all but eradicated whooping cough.

I remember, during the 1980s seeing some heartbreaking footage of a tiny baby barely able to catch its breath while a giant man’s hand held a massive oxygen mask close to the infant’s face, its face screwed up, eyes tight shut as it coughed and coughed and coughed.

We were all, as children, given the triple antigen to protect us from diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough) and the subsequent boosters.

But now, whooping cough has jumped, by a massive 8000 per cent.

We went from just 15 cases last year to 1200 now.

This vaccine can cut the chances of a baby too young to be vaccinated from contracting this deadly disease by up to 75 per cent if pregnant mum has the jab.

It has been tried and tested for decades and it works.
