Renewables popular

It is always encouraging when people spend time and effort in putting their view to the broader community.

So the “Let’s Rethink Renewables” group are right to put their view that renewables are a bad thing.

But Ms Katy McCallum, leader of the group and the One Nation candidate for Gympie also claimed that regional Australia was opposed to renewables.

I have seen no evidence to support this statement.

The group shown in the photograph was a good turnout of about 30 supporters.

But on Saturday morning there were over 500 cars at the Showgrounds at 10am attending the Off Grid Expo.

Throughout the day, and on Sunday, thousands of people attended an excellent expo based on renewables.

Perhaps One Nation (and the LNP) do not understand that the Gympie area has changed.

The old country party opposition to anything new or different does not have the support that it used to have.

The Gympie area supports renewables and perhaps those who claim otherwise could produce some evidence if they believe otherwise.
