Have you noticed

Have you noticed the blatant disregard our Prime Minister and his party has for our Australian national flag.

He always has the aboriginal flag displayed behind him in Canberra.

A little history: They don’t even know the protocol that comes with the Australian national flag handed out by their own federal ministers.

Go get a flag, they’re free.

I procured a flag years ago from my local member of parliament and it comes with the proper directions on how we should honour our flag.

It also gives you the history of our flag, our flag was chosen from over 32,000 entries presented in a competition in 1901 and displayed at the royal exhibition building in Victoria in the year of federation.

It was designed and chosen by our pioneers, this is our heritage and we should be proud of it.

I have qualms with flying the aboriginal or Torres strait island flags.

The aboriginal was just flown on 9 July, 1971 and Torres strait island flag in May 1992.

It states that they have equal pre-cadence – but hey, for the Prime Minister not to stand before and honour our flag that represents us to the world and the Australian people is unconscionable.

S. Hansen,

Gympie.
