The proposal for a three stage tourist park at Traveston has reached the stage where public may make submissions to the Gympie Regional Council.
The Development Application is for 260 caravan sites and 100 camp sites in the area bounded by Dobson Rd, the Mary Valley Link Rd and the Mary River.
The area is all subject to flooding and the proposed entrances flood at short notice.
But it would provide a boost for tourism in the Mary Valley.
The details are all available on council’s website and submissions close on 29 August.
There will be a public meeting at Dagun Station in the Pavilion on Saturday 20 August at 3.30pm to allow discussion and to provide further details so that people can assess the proposal and give council their ideas on it.
