Flying well below the radar was a feel good story about our young people being considerate to the needs of local businesses hit hard by recent flooding.
Everyone knows about the struggles of the Mary Street traders – it’s been well documented and help for those guys was lining up around the block.
And I’m not detracting from their awful struggle one bit.
But those businesses in other areas that were just out of the spotlight felt, I am reliably informed by a friend firsthand, “a bit like the forgotten cousin.”
That’s why, when I heard about the actions of the Year 10 Hospitality Students at James Nash, I just had to share their story.
These thoughtful young people’s actions touched the hearts of some pretty cynical tradies – making the morning tea treats they made and delivered, all that much sweeter.
