Gympie Today is still only a young publication – this is only our second year – but as my mum always said, start as you mean to go on.
And last year, we nominated a Citizen of the Year for our end of year publication.
This year, we did it again with 8-year-old Hannah Raines our worthy inductee to this new tradition.
Hannah’s selfless act and generous soul should be recognised, because true altruism in one so young is remarkable and should be encouraged.
Let her tiny beacon of hope serve as a reminder of the good there is in the world when we are surrounded by the darkness of negativity and the isolation and segregation many are feeling because of recent events.
Hannah reminds us that with a new year comes renewed hope for better things to come.
