Fast progress for GMT

This year has been progressing very fast towards 2026.

Sally and I attended the Local Govt Small Business and Customer Service Committee Public Hearing inquiry into volunteering in Qld held in Gympie.

All Members of Parliament present were very interested in GMT’s service asking us lots of questions and congratulating All GMT members on the service we give to the community – thank you all.

We at GMT are very excited to buy land in Bent Street, Gympie where in the future we will house our offices and cars all together on one site.

We were ably assisted in buying this land by Ronnie and Kelvin Cochrane plus much appreciation must go the family selling the property keeping this sale local which will aid our local community.

GMT has benefitted from some very generous donations form community members, clubs and bequests in recent months.

GMT is also proud to welcome 5 new volunteer drivers.

Our fleet of 7 cars continue to be on the road daily Monday to Friday.

We were successful in the community grant program from GRC allowing us to obtain a new printer which is of significance in continuing our service to this community.

This printer makes life easier for all office volunteers.

In August Bev and Sally have been asked to attend the Australian Community Transport Assocation’s conference in the Gold Coast.

Bev Goodall,

Gympie Medial Transport President
