Rates rise ‘could have been worse’: Mayor

Gympie Regional Council has unanimously settled on a 5.5 percent general rates rise, and an increase of about 6.8 percent for its services, but Mayor Glen Hartwig says this is balanced by a seven per cent increase in costs.
