’Community obligation’

Tony Goodman

By Arthur Gorrie

Vaccination is an obligation and a responsibility to the common good, according to Mary St business operator and outgoing Gympie Chamber of Commerce president, Tony Goodman.

Mr Goodman stresses it is only his personal opinion, but as many Gympie businesspeople and their workers speak out against state government vaccine mandates, he respectfully disagrees.

“Having the courage to get vaccinated is part of our obligation and responsibility to each other,“ he said.

“I feel we’ve got to protect the community.

“I understand individual concerns about mandates, but it’s equally important to act for the common good.“
