Gympie gives generously for Wishlist

Wishlist smashed their target goal of raising $260k by over $20k during their Wishlist Giving Day on Wednesday 27 March.

Wishlist was with Zinc 96.1 FM and the Gympie Lions for Breakfast on Mary Street by the centre stage to fundraise for much needed medical research, purchasing vital equipment and upgrading services across Gympie and the Sunshine Coast.

The charity received an impressive amount of donations from the Gympie region with residents from around the region giving $8608 out of their own pockets to add to the grand total of $282,193 that was reached by the end of the day.

During this year’s giving day, for one day only, the fundraising appeal had local businesses come on board to match donations for Wishlist.

On the day, Gympie Lions presented a donation of $1000 to Wishlist which was matched to become a $2000 donation.

Donors included Jellina White – BOQ Gympie with Mayor Glen Hartwig, Ian Partington – Elders Real Estate Gympie with Mason Finance Group, Heritage Bank – Gympie Team, the Gympie ED Raffle, the Gympie Living magazine as well as funds raised from the Gympie Hospital.

People listened as guest appearance Mayor Glen Hartwig and Bilko had a friendly competition to see who can raise the most money from 8am to 9am.

Wishlist fund vital medical equipment, patient support services like accommodation, research and much more.
