Wayne Boyd wants change

Wayne Boyd will be contesting Division 4 in the upcoming local government election.

Mr Boyd wants to focus on improving and maintaining essential infrastructure, roads, utilities and public spaces to enhance quality of life.

He is also concerned about property being subdivided without infrastructure being upgraded to support houses being built within the region.

If elected into the council, he also aims to address housing challenges by implementing policies that promote affordable housing options as well as tackle homelessness.

“Having worked in areas where I saw a lot of homeless people including families, I want to investigate where we may set up safe refuges where they can at least sleep and spend time without fear of being hassled or attacked.” he said.

“I have also had the opportunity in the past to work with people are are down and helped their lives for a better future.

“I have some ideas to make these safe havens, but need to look at the logistics to make them work.

“It would involve the coordination of several agencies.

“I’m not currently in a position to do this, but as a councillor, I would be.”

Wayne Boyd also said he is very keen to hear others positives views and ideas.

“I’m sure I’m not the only one that has positive contributions and thoughts on this.” he said.

“In the past I have organised and ran projects that involved coordination of the three levels of government, community organisations and private business.”

He also believes that with the right ideas, like-minded people and right agencies, safe areas can be developed for those caught in unfortunate circumstances.

He has a facebook page where he is happy to respond to messages and answer questions.
