The Pie Creek Community Hall Committee hosted its Christmas party and 120 year anniversary on Saturday, 9 December.

It included a celebratory cake, created by Annabelle from Hello My Sweetie, a photo board of stages of the hall being refurbished by SkillCentred and centenary celebrations in 2003.

Further, Jerry Crotty spoke of history of the oldest hall in the region.

A meal including BBQ meat and salads as well as jelly, fruit salad, custard and Christmas cake was enjoyed by all.

A visit from Santa, delivered by Gympie South Fire Brigade, with lights flashing and sirens roaring, was a highlight for the children and adults.

The band, The Rock’n’Roll Boys kept dancers on their toes and the audience engaged.

    The multi-draw raffle was popular.

Cec Long was the lucky winner of first prize, a Makita radio, donated by Mitre 10.

A Nestle hamper, donated by Nestle Australia Ltd, was won by Shirley Chaplin.

Carol Richardson won a laundry basket full of donated items, while Phyllis Kerr won a $50 Bunnings voucher.

Marcasite earrings, donated by Kay Greer, were won by Lisa Davis.

Cec Long and Jada each won a $25 fruit and vegetable tray, bought from Farmer and Son.

There were also winners of fifteen smaller prizes, donated by local businesses and residents.

The Hall thank all their donors, who brought smiles to the faces of the lucky winners on the night.

The Hall is administered by a committee of locals dedicated to the long- term maintenance and use of the hall.
