AA Zoom Meetings

Night Market (Heart of Gold Markets)

The Gympie Night Market has a great selection of locally sourced and hand made produce and products and services, live music and food vendors on offer. Proceeds will be going towards funding a Gympie neighbourhood centre for vulnerable people. It’s held on the first Friday of every month and this month will be held at the Heart of Gold Film Festival at the Gympie Showgrounds from 9am-3pm Friday, 9am-4pm Saturday and 9am-1pm Sunday. Wolvi Hall Open Mic Night

Head along to Wolvi Hall on the first Friday Night of the month to discover the very newest local talent. All PA and Back Line are provided and the night starts at 6.30pm and is arranged in 3 songs, 15 minutes sets to give everyone a go. Then it’s rinse and repeat or jam until 11.30pm. Widgee Balladeers & Country Music Festival

Held at the Widgee Showgrounds, this week long event continues for pure country music enthusiasts. Head along for a full week of music and fun, with camping available on site. There will be walk ups until Friday evening when the booked artists will take the stage for the Saturday and Sunday events. Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival

Gympie is gearing up for its annual cinematic extravaganza as it makes its triumphant return for 2023. From Friday 6 to Sunday 8 October, film enthusiasts will flock to Gympie to revel in the magic of short films that touch the soul, uplift the spirit and warm the heart at Queensland’s premier regional short film festival. This year’s program boasts an impressive line-up of over 100 short films, including 1 world premiere, 18 Australian premieres, and 27 Queensland premieres. The Unique-Artz shop will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday featuring a range of goods handcrafted by local artisans. Long Flat Dance

Parkinson’s Support Group Gympie

The Gympie Parkinson’s Support Group meets on the second Monday of every month. Parkinson’s disease is a disorder of the nervous system. It results from damage to the nerve cells that produce Dopamine, a chemical that is vital for the smooth control of muscles and movement. Their next meeting is Monday at 10am in the Graham Street Indoor Bowls Hall. The group is a friendly, supportive group and happy to welcome new members. Legacy Special Movie Screening

Gympie Legacy, an organisation that supports the families of deceased veterans, will be holding a fundraising event at the Gympie Cinemas to help them continue their vital work. The club will present a special screening of A Haunting in Venice which is a classic whodunnit starring Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot. Tickets are $15 and are available from the Veteran Centre at 44 Nash St. Doors open at 4.30pm and hors d’oeuvres will be served prior to the movie at 5.30pm.
