When Gympie local Maree Schull purchased a piece of furniture online, she had no idea about its history in the medical field.
A silky oak Duchess made around the mid 1900s appears to have been originally used in the Brisbane General Hospital (BGH).
Although faint with age, there is writing on the back which states it was used on the 4th floor in Block 2 of the BGH.
After purchasing it from someone around six or seven years ago Mrs Schull said she thought perhaps the pull-out section could have been used as a writing platform for nurses.
However, little information is know about it.
Mrs Schull is in the process of downsizing her home and jumping into a caravan to travel, and is wondering if anyone has a personal connection to this unique piece.
