Cupid comes to Widgee

Cupid and his minions will make an early visit to Widgee on Saturday 5 February, spreading love and good cheer with pink hearts aplenty, ready for Valentine’s Day.

Are you looking for that something special for the love of your life? Want to express your ‘Romantic’ side? Then come check out the colourful array in the Widgee Memorial Hall. There’ll be lots of interesting and intriguing gift ideas, hand-made cards and craft items.

Sit back and relax in the Koala Kafe and enjoy a delicious Devonshire Tea, made fresh on the premises, or try one of the tasty Bacon Butties from the Sausage Sizzle stand. There’s something for everyone! Doors are open from 7am to 12noon with stalls both inside and out, under the shady trees. Looking to join the fun? Sites are free so contact Kath O’Donnell on 0411 635 459 for bookings.

Widgee is a known Koala hotspot and you’ll often see them snoozing the days away, high up in the gums in our local parks and bushlands. All profits from the Koala Kafe help with the care of injured or sick Koalas and other native animals and birds, assisting in their rehabilitation and return to native habitat. Koalas on your property? Pick up your free Info Pack from the volunteers on the Koala Action Group stand.
