Steve: The myth, the ball, the legend?

Here at Gympie Today, we see our fair share of oddball stories … and Stickerball Steve might just top the list.

At first glance, it’s easy to laugh.

A giant ball of stickers? Really?

But talk to the team at Gympie Tyrepower, and suddenly it doesn’t seem so strange.

In fact, they’ll tell you it’s almost ordinary, just taken to an extraordinary level.

And that’s where Gympie shines.

Because what might seem weird elsewhere is something we lean into.

We build it, we back it, and sometimes, we might even turn it into a record-breaker.

With nine years of work behind it and a weight tipped somewhere between 220 and 250 kilograms, Steve could well be in the running for the world’s biggest.

We’ve had big before – The Big Pineapple, for example.

Strange? Maybe.

But in Gympie, we don’t just embrace the weird.

We stick to it!
