Sullivan Livestock yarded 1586 mixed quality cattle at their Gympie Cattle Sale held Monday, 15 September, where the market was firm to dearer throughout.

Cattle were drawn from Mundubbera, Gin Gin, Bundaberg, Maryborough, Brooweena, Woolooga, Tansey, Kilkivan, Maleny, Kenilworth, and all local areas.

Droughtmaster steers from Gundiah sold for $4.58 and $4.50 ($2038 and $1823).

Charbray steers from Goomboorian made $4.70 ($1688).

Charbray x steers from Hervey Bay sold for $4.74 ($1627).

Charbray steers from Greens Creek made $5.06 ($1297).

Euro x weaner steers from Brooweena made $5.26 ($1310).

Brangus x weaner steers made $4.70 ($1165).

Generally, better-quality weaner steers sold from $4.60 to $5.26.

Quality feeder Charbray heifers from the Ensbey Family made $4.30 to return $2038, $1716, and $1755, and $4.40 ($1817).

Charbray heifers from Sexton made $4.10 ($1797) and $4.30 ($1902).

Santa x heifers from Crownthorpe made $3.86 ($1512).

Brahman heifers from Brooweena made $3.58 ($1420).

Charbray x heifers from Wonga made $3.70 ($1257).

Brangus heifers from R & T McIntosh, Widgee, made $4.04 ($1270).

Charbray heifers from Kandanga sold for $4.04 ($1378).

Brahman x feeder heifers generally sold from $3.20 to $3.70.

Weaner heifers sold to a top of $3.80 but generally sold from $3.10 to $3.70 pending quality.
