Spirited competition at sales

Sullivan Livestock yarded 2167 good quality weaners for their second weaner sale of the year, where the market met spirited competition throughout.

Cattle were drawn from Mundubberra, Wallaville, Gin Gin, Woolooga, Brooweena, Tansey, Goomeri and all local areas.

Quality Charbray steers from Mundubberra sold for $4.56 to return $1,301 and $1,181.

Charbray steers from Morganville made $4.52 ($1,281) and $4.66 ($1,152).

Charbray steers from Cinnabar sold for $4.50 ($1,227). Charbray steers from Mary’s Creek made $4.68 ($1,094).

Charbray steers from Oakview made $4.56 ($1,056). Simmental x steers from Wonga sold for $4.34 ($1,327) and $4.36 ($1,146).

Simmental steers from Mudloo made $4.44 ($1,098). Santa steers from ElginVale sold for $4.42 ($1,145).

Brangus steers from Tansey sold for $4.22 ($1,161) and $4.34 ($1,058). Brangus steers from Lower Wonga made $4.18 ($1,271 and $1,224).

Brangus steers from Nargoon sold for $4.44 ($1,149 and $949). Droughtmaster steers from Wallaville made $4.28 ($1,116).

Gelbvieh x heifers from Kia Ora made $3.38 ($1,174).

Simmental x heifers from Goomeri made $3.36 ($1,020). Simmental x heifers from Wonga made $3.30, $3.24 and $3.22 topping at $1,035.

Simmental heifers from Goomeri made $3.66 ($1,089). Charbray heifers from Mundubberra made $3.40 to return ($959, $916 and $870).

Charbray heifers also from Mundubberra made $3.30 to return $1,015. Quality Charbray heifers from Morganville made $3.72 ($935) and $3.40 ($866).

Charbray heifers from Calgoa made $3.36 ($823). Charolais x heifers from Mudloo sold for $3.48 ($838).

Charolais x heifers from Woolooga made $3.52 ($888) and $3.46 ($806). Santa x heifers from Kilkivan made $3.18 ($824).

Murgon’s fortnightly sale

A total of 650 head were yarded in Murgon on Tuesday, 17 June for the fortnightly liveweight sale.

Export cattle were slightly cheaper. Better quality feeder steers sold to strong competition.

A lot of the younger cattle yarded were very mixed in quality.

Bullocks sold to $3.38 per kilo for $2420.00.

Heavy Bulls topped at $2.79 c/kg for $2490.00.

Cows over 500kg sold to $2.70 per kilogram and $2250.00.

Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $2.46 for $1220.00.

Cows up to 400kg topped at $2.20 per kilo and $880.00.

Export heifers sold to $3.10 per kg and $1720.00.

Cattle were drawn from Isis, Gayndah, Durong, Proston, Nanango Kingaroy and locally.

420 kg Angus steers from Stalworth sold to $4.13 c/kg for $1730.00.

Angus steers ex Wooroonden sold for $1676.00 at $3.92 c/kg.

A draft of 45 local Angus and Santa steers sold for an average of $3.90 c/kg and $1640.00, topping at $4.05 c/kg and $1750.00.

Local Santa steers 480 kg sold for $1820.00 at $3.80 c/kg.

340 kg Charbray steers from Isis sold to $4.04 c/kg and $1380.00.

Local Santa steers 338 kg sold for $1320.00 at $3.90 c/kg.

Droughtmaster cross steers from Sandy Ridges sold to $3.60 c/kg and $1050.00.

Angus weaner steers from Proston also sold to $3.60 c/kg for $880.00.

Droughtmaster weaner steers from Goomeri also sold for $3.60 c/kg and $980.00.

350 kg Droughtmaster Heifers from Booubyjan sold for $2.80 c/kg returning $990.00.

Local Santa heifers 350 kg sold to $2.68 c/kg and $940.00.

Angus weaner heifers from Proston sold to $3.08 c/kg for $680.00.

Brahman Cows and Calves sold to $1450.00.

Eidsvold Livestock and Property – Cattle Sale Results 18 June

A yarding of 535 liveweight cattle plus 7 x 7 Cows and Calves were sold at the Eidsvold Saleyards on Wednesday 18 June 2025 with the market remaining firm to slightly easier in certain categories.

The yarding consisted of over 200 Steers in the 300-500kg weight range topping at 408c/kg to average 387c/kg returning a top of $1512 to average $1342.

The Feeder Steers within the 400-500kg range sold well to top at 396c/kg to average 370c/kg returning a top of $1763 to average $1611 per head.

Most of the Feeder Steers were from the Cracow, Theodore area with a quality draft of Droughtmaster Cross Steers account Birch Pastoral which weighed an average of 395kg selling to a top of 396c/kg to average 390c/kg.

300 – 400 kg Steers returned a top of 312c/kg to return $1160 to average $920 per head.

Weaner Heifers sold to a top of 320c/kg to average 300c/kg to return a top of $872 to average $744 per head.

A small run of quality Weaner Steers made a top of $1045 per head to average $942 per head.

Meatworks cattle were a little softer on average with prices reaching 268c/kg to average 254 c/kg.

Aged Store Cows sold to a top of 190c/kg to average 178c/kg.

Good Quality Brangus Cows and Calves account Gary Walsh sold for $1620 per unit.

With the current frosted conditions and the late run of Weaners we will be conducting a Special Weaner Sale on the Wednesday, 30 July with some exceptional Weaners already booked in.
