Whilst it was great to see the support at the last Test Match for the McGrath Foundation for cancer care I would like to remind every one of your readers of our own, local, palliative care nurses who belong to Little Haven.
My wife died a little over a year ago and was able to die at home as she wanted purely because of the incredible services provided, free of charge, by Little Haven. Their nurses visited daily and were on call 24/7 as I needed them for additional support.
So, whilst The McGrath Foundation provides an excellent support service it does not provide in-home care in our community – that is provided by the incredible team at Little Haven and I urge anyone wishing to support in-home palliative care for their loved ones to always support Little Haven whenever the opportunity arises.
