Good prices at Gympie

Sullivan Livestock yarded 1488 cattle at their Gympie Cattle Sale held Monday on 23 September.

Cattle were drawn from Booubyjan, Tansey, Manyung, Goomeri, Kilkivan, Teebar, Woolooga, Kenilworth, Conondale and all local areas.

Droughtmaster feeder steers from Traveston sold for $3.46 ($1642).

Brangus steers from Tansey sold for $3.58 ($1507).

Droughtmaster steers from Mooloo sold for $3.62 ($1456).

Droughtmaster steers from The Palms made $3.92 ($1400).

Droughtmaster steers from Kandanga made $3.98 ($1335).

Quality Brangus weaner steers from Cinnabar made $4.18 ($1274).

Charbray weaner steers from Sexton made $4.16 and $4.24 to return $1217 and $1116 respectively.

Charbray steers from Greens Creek made $4.42 and $4.20 ($1024 and $1039).

Simmental x steers from Wonga sold for $4.38 ($1081).

Generally, better quality weaner steers sold from $3.80 to $4.40.

Charbray heifers from Kilkivan topped at $3.28 ($1267) and $3.14 ($1094).

Droughtmaster heifers from Traveston made $3.10 ($1184).

Santa weaner heifers from Bauple sold for $2.94 ($755).

Generally, weaner heifers sold from $2.20 to $2.72, while lighter weaners made from $2.00 to $2.45.

Droughtmaster cows and calves topped at $1625 from Traveston.

Charbray x cows and calves from Brooloo made $1300.

Most cows and calves sold from $1100 to $1350.
