Sullivan Livestock yarded 1209 mixed quality cattle at their Gympie Cattle Sale held on Monday 12 August, where the market remained firm for all descriptions.
Cattle were drawn from Mundubbera, Gayndah, Booubyjan, Maryborough, Tansey, Woolooga, Kenilworth, Conondale and all local areas.
Heavy feeder steers from Proston sold for $3.48 ($1,682). Good quality Charbray steers from Mundubbera made $3.66 ($1,481). Brangus steers from Kilkivan made $3.76 ($1,128).
Charbray steers from Calico Creek made $3.86 ($1103).
Limousin x weaner steers from Gympie made $3.94 ($1086).
Charolais x steers from Greens Creek sold for $3.86 ($913).
Brangus steers from Hervey Bay made $3.86 ($891). Generally, weaner steers sold from $3.35 to $3.80 pending quality.
Droughtmaster x heifers from Maleny sold for $2.94 ($1,135) and $2.80 ($944).
Generally feeder heifers sold from $2.40 to $2.75 pending type and teeth.
Brangus heifers from Sexton sold for $2.82 ($760).
Droughtmaster heifers from Theebine made $2.62 ($798).
Limousin x heifers from Sexton made $2.40 ($678).
Weaner heifers generally sold from $2.10 to $2.50.
Cows and Calves limited in supply sold to a top of $1,650.
