On 3 June 2024, I had the misfortune to have a fall at the bottom of the ramp outside, resulting in a badly broken humerus.
I activated my vital call provider who called the ambulance which arrived in a reasonable short time.
I cannot praise the emergency providers enough.
I called Steve the Paramedic a cruel beggar when he picked me up off the ground as the pain was excruciating.
He and his partner, her name eludes me at the moment, were able to stabilise me in the ambulance before transporting me to the emergency department of the Gympie Hospital where I was seen by the lovely and efficient Dr Sarah.
At the end of the day, I was admitted to a ward into the care of the wonderful Dr Mina Ebraham.
The very caring social worker was able to secure a vacancy in Calvary, the former Lister Nursing home.
My roommate Brenda helped me in so many ways.
Thank you, Brenda, as I had to leave the hospital much earlier than I should have.
Thank you to all for your get-well wishes, flowers, visits, and luxury edibles.
I am back home now to complete my recovery.
