I am surprised the LNP under Peter Dutton is pushing for nuclear power.
I noticed in the media nobody asked where the nuclear waste spent fuel rods will go.
Buried in the desert?
Dropped in the ocean?
There is nothing clean about nuclear energy.
Why are some European countries shutting down their reactors?
Could it be because the old salt and coal mines are full of nuclear waste drums.
On the news about 40 years ago a ship was observed dropping nuclear waste drums in the ocean between England and Spain.
Are we following the same trend?
Nuclear waste will be with us for many generations and thousands of years.
Can you imagine if we bury the waste in the ground and leaks into the groundwater.
From many years of oil and gas drilling experience we are fortunate to have massive coal seam deposits full of energy in Australia to last us hundreds of years.
Why not spend money to find a solution to burn clean coal.
Coal seam gas is an issue and Fracking should not be allowed leave the tight coal formations alone.
The gas will come in time to surface after removing the water It takes longer but safe.
We have solar and wind power yet have not looked at Geothermal power.
Wave power or Tidal power.
If every households solar excess is used by the power companies there be no power shortages.
Again the fault of politicians.
We cannot trust them they look after themselves not the community.
Let’s look back at our late Queensland premier Joe Bjelke Petersen, he wanted to drill for Oil & gas on the Barrier Reef.
People need to think carefully when casting their vote for nuclear at the next election it will change the face of Australia forever.
Until technology is available to neutralise nuclear waste nuclear power is evil and should be avoided.
