What’s on around the region this week?

Make your own Harry-Potteresque mandrake root at a fun class at the Tin Can Bay Library this coming Thursday.

FRIDAY 26 April

Live Music

Head along to the Rainbow Beach Sports Club from 6pm to listen to great live music by great local artists. This week, the Rusty Dogs Band will be playing.

Last Friday Social Club – Tips for Self-Publishing

Traditional publishing isn’t the only way to distribute your work. Find out the tips and tricks for getting your first book self-published during this Queensland Writers Centre seminar. Learn about print and digital options at the Gympie Library from 10-11am. Bookings are essential on 5481 0859.

Rainbow Beach Art Group

*Kids Learn to Sew – Beginner*

Join us at the Gympie Library at 3.30pm over four weeks as we as we teach you the

basics of sewing. You will have the opportunity to complete a new project each week.

Quota Morning Tea

Laser Engraver Introduction

The Emblazer Laser machine is used for the precision engraving and cutting of wood and other materials. This training session at the Gympie Library on the fourth Friday of every month at 10am will guide you through basic operating procedures, software, and safety precautions for successful use of the machine. Live Music

Long Flat Dance

Gympie Orchid Show

Displays of show orchids and foliage plants as well as refreshments, expert advice and raffles. Doors open 8am to 4pm Saturday and 8am to 2pm Sunday at 35 Graham Street (Indoor Bowls Club), and entry is $4.

Set4Life Celebration of Song Concert

The concert starts at 2pm at the James Nash State High School Performing Arts Theatre. Tickets cost between $15 and $20 and proceeds go to Set4Life, a Gympie-based registered charity that provides access to healthcare and education to the remote communities of Yiben in northern Sierra Leone. The Gympie QCWA get together to meet every Wednesday. But, depending which week it is, it will be either a Meeting (1st), Craft Day (2nd and 4th) or Coffee Date (3rd). Learn Scottish Country Dancing
