Past on show for Family History Month

Gympie Family History Society have set up a display showcasing Gympie weddings from the past at the Gympie Regional Library as part of Family History Month.

August is Family History Month and Gympie Family History Society has a lovely display at Gympie Regional Library, of ‘Weddings Through Time’.

It is available to view all month.

Tomorrow, Saturday 7 August, in conjunction with the Mary Valley Rattler Picnic Train, the GFHS, will have a display in their rooms at 1 Chapple Street, for Family History Month.

Opening at 8am, all are welcome to come along and have a look for this free event.

The GFHS extended their congratulations to the Gympie Regional Library, especially Lisa Ryan, on new videos “Voices of the Valley” recently.

The Gympie Regional Library have added the videos to their Youtube channel.

President of the GFHS, Wendy Flikweert said;

“This is such a great production to view and the stories and memories of the locals interviewed are wonderful to watch and listen to.

“We recommend that anyone who would like to know more about that area, should view the videos – many thanks and congratulations.”

After the GFHS DNA Talk last Saturday, Pam, their Guru on DNA is offering, 30 minute one on one sessions.

These sessions are available from Wednesday to Saturday at $10 per session.
