Photography is a fascinating interest and hobby to participate in as life can be seen differently through the lens of a camera.
Gympie Camera club members are showing just that when presenting their images to be viewed while sharing how they see their world.
This month of competition was all about “Australia” for the set subject.
Many different images presented showing Australia in many ways and made for an interesting night of viewing.
The judge for the competition was Ralph Brown of the PSQ [Photographic Society of Qld] accredited and also the society President.
Ralph gave quality critique and encouragement for all members to take in and to learn from.
Many awards were given to members for their work well done.
Club Outing of the month was an enjoyable few hours spent at Boreen Point.
The weather was not the kindest with bringing some wind and rain to add to the fun of the morning.
Some members gathered to enjoy the time with camera in hand and to capture the beauty of the surrounding area.
Monday 18 March will be a night that members are looking forward too, enjoying an evening on zoom with Len Metcalf from Sydney.
Len is a great teacher and Master of Monochrome Photography; he has been a presenter in the Australian Photography Magazine for many years and is well known for his talent and lifelong love of photography in all forms.
There is always something happening at the Gympie Camera Club and the April outing is a planned friendship day out with the Sunshine Coast and Caboolture Clubs.
This will be a day spent at Maroochydore Botanical Gardens.
It is a fun day of photography meeting up with old and making new friends while sharing photography chats ,coffee, good food and lots of laughter.
Quote: By George Eastman- “Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography”.
If you would like to share and discover more about Photography and make some new friendships you can join the club at 39 Saleyard Road.
Meetings are the first Tuesday and third Monday of the Month, meetings start 7.00pm sharp.
While they digress that they are not teachers, their club is a group of people learning and discovering new things in photography and happy to share their knowledge.
