Twilight Rattler returns

Bells are ringin’ and steam is steamin’ on the Mary Valley Rattler as Gympie’s heritage train service speeds towards Christmas.

Taking advantage of warm evenings and spectacular sunsets, the Mary Valley Rattler is offering special twilight services throughout December.

The Twilight Express allows passengers to enjoy the Mary Valley at its most attractive.

Twilight Express services will operate each Friday and Saturday evening in the run up to Christmas. Departing Historic Gympie Station at 5.30pm, the train will steam to Amamoor with a stop along the way at the Dagun Station.

The train returns before 9pm.

Tickets are from $65 per adult, $35 (children), and $175 for a family of four.

For a special Christmas treat, VIP and Deluxe options are available, with onboard service of local cheeses accompanied by a beverage, as well as bar service and exclusive photo opportunities.

The Twilight services can also accommodate wheelchair passengers and pets can be brought onboard for an additional fee.

Other services being offered by Mary Valley Rattler during December include the Silver Bullet Taste of the Region which will be running each Saturday & Sunday in December at 10am.

Board the Heritage Silver Bullet 2000 Class Railmotor for a scenic journey, a glass of sparkling wine, souvenir Mary Valley Rattler tumbler, and a fixed selection of light appetizers.

Along the way the train will stop at the Dagun Station, where there will be a cheese and wine tasting session with the Dagun Community Group.

Tickets are $115 per adult.
