Gympie Parkinson’s support group were fortunate to have representatives from RangeCare as their guest speakers. They were entertaining as well as informative, seen here in the accompanying photo of Yoey Coogan are Rachel and Jess following their combined talk. They said RangeCare provides help with paperwork to see what is available to those who need assistance. They have a Respite Centre and also provide home help. Yet again the group is growing, with another three members last month. Parkinson’s disease is a disorder of the nervous system. It results from damage to the nerve cells that produce dopamine, a chemical that is vital for the smooth control of muscle and movement.
The next meeting is August 14 at the Indoor Bowls Centre, Graham Street Gympie at 10:00 am.
