Your photograph in Gympie Today last week once again highlights the driving skills of so many of today’s drivers.
It was more good luck than good judgement that avoided a very serious head-on accident.
Painting wider double white lines down the middle of the road emphasises the driving skills of so many holders of a licence that sends a chill down my spine.
I do not remember how long ago since the new driving regulations, pertaining to the tested skill levels, came into power before a driving licence was issued.
However, it is obvious these instructors are not emphasising the imperative to drive as close as practical to the left of the road, which will minimise head-on accidents.
I realise the photo was more about seriously bad driving behaviour than keeping to the left, but bad driving will always be bad driving.
I was beginning to believe there is some type of magnetic property in the paint on the road which pulls cars to the centre but, I am sure this behaviour needs to be corrected during the instruction period of licence testing rather than wait for a serious accident.
