There was no love on Valentine’s Day for Bart Mellish, Qld Minister for Transport and Main Roads, when Gympie MP Tony Perret pressed Mr Mellish for details on the Tiaro Bypass.
The project came into question when the Federal Government dialed back funding for Queensland infrastructure projects in November last year, and although the Tiaro project was not among those to be axed, the adjustment of the funding ratio from 80/20 with Federal paying the larger proportion of 80 per cent and State picking up the 20 per cent, back to 50/50 for each government has raised questions.
Mr Perrett asked Mr Mellish the following Question on Notice.
“With reference to the Tiaro flood immunity upgrade of the Bruce Highway (Tiaro bypass)- Will the Minister advise when detail design will be finalised and the proposed timelines for land resumption and commencement of construction?”
Mr Mellish is required to respond by 15 March.
Mr Perrett also pressed Minister for Health Shannon Fentiman on details surrounding a block of land adjacent to the Gympie Hospital between King and Duke Streets.
He issued the following Question on Notice last Thursday, 15 February.
“With reference to the vacant land at Duke and King Streets Gympie, Will the Minister advise (a) if Queensland Health has purchased or is leasing the land and (b) if so, what are the terms of the lease, including how many years it is being leased?”
Minister Fentiman is required to provide her response by Monday, 18 March.
